Termite

Termite swarming season has begun in Florida. Subterranean termites are winged, black insects about a quarter of an inch long. They resemble big-headed ants that also have wings. However, the ants, shown in the picture above left, have an hourglass shaped body. The termites, shown above right, don’t have a two-segmented body.
